SLI holds 5th Annual Impact Awards, Chris Nowinski receives USSA Award

The Sports Legacy Institute held the 5th Annual Impact Awards at the Boston Harbor Hotel on Wednesday, October 24th.  The fundraiser was again a huge success and everyone in attendance enjoyed spending the evening with others who share their passion for solving the concussion crisis and the prevention of traumatic brain injury.  The Impact Award recipients this year were The Ivy League, Sylvia Mackey and Eleanor Perfetto.

SLI’s Co-Founder and Executive Director, Chris Nowinski, was also presented with a surprise award during the event.  Chris received the United States Sports Acedemy’s Distinguished Service Award (DSA), which is given annually to those individuals who have made outstanding contributions to national or international sports through instruction, research or service.  Each nominee must possess an extensive background in sports and must have had significant dealings in either instruction, research or service in sports for more than 10 years.  Congratulations to Chris on this prestigious honor!

Four Blue Sky clients appear at Conference

Blue Sky orchestrated a multi-player appearance for a conference held at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center.  The client chose one retired player from each of the four major sports leagues.  Former Boston Bruin Mark Recchi, Celtics legend John Havlicek, former Patriots quaterback Steve Grogan, and Red Sox Hall of Famer Jim Rice were on hand to meet and greet attendees and pose for photos.
