Tim Wakefield retires from the Boston Red Sox

February 17, 2012

At 5:00pm today, Boston Red Sox knuckleballer Tim Wakefield will announce his retirement from Major League Baseball at JetBlue Park in Fort Meyers, Florida.  The press conference will be broadcast live on

The Blue Sky client ends his 19 year career having spent the last 17 seasons with the Red Sox, the most for an active player.  Wakefield has 200 wins with the team which puts him at third in team history for victories.  He is second in games played as a pitcher and with the help of his famed knuckleball, has recorded over 2000 strikeouts.  In 2009, Tim made his first appearance on the All Star team and in 2010, he received the Roberto Clemente Award for outstanding work in the community as well as on the field.

One of the most respected figures in the clubhouse, Tim will undoubtedly be missed by his Red Sox teammates, but his contributions to the community are sure to continue.  We look forward to being a part of Tim’s future endeavors.

Rob Gronkowski gives ankle update at Superbowl Media Day

February 1, 2012

Good news came to New England Patriots fans on Tuesday, January 31st, when media day for Super Bowl XLVI was held in Indianapolis:  Patriot’s tight end Rob Gronkowski walked up to the podium without the help of his walking boot to answer questions.

Gronkowski suffered a high ankle sprain in the AFC Championship game on Sunday, January 22nd, and has not practiced with the team since.  However, Gronkowski was all smiles at media day while updating his health as day to day and he continues to work with the training staff.  He was not focused on if he will play Sunday, but instead on getting better each day.

The Patriots are hopeful that Gronkowski will be able to play on Sunday, as he is a significant part of their offense.  We hope Rob has a speedy recovery and is ready to beat the Giants on Sunday!
