Marco Sturm’s 1st Annual Poker Party

October 13, 2010

On September 15th, the Boston Bruin’s Marco Sturm held his first annual charity event, Sturmy’s Poker Party.  Proceeds went to benefit the Boston Bruins Foundation and the Franciscan Hospital for Children.  Blue Sky ran the event, which took place at The Liberty Hotel in Boston, MA.

Kathryn Tappen from NESN served as the event emcee and Marco opened up the program with a heartfelt thank you to all in attendance.  98.5 The Sports Hub’s Toucher and Rich were also on hand to run the live auction.

The 160 poker seats sold out days before the event, but that didn’t stop additional guests from lining up at the door with hopes of a no-show.

Each table of 9 had one celebrity poker player, the majority of which were Marco’s teammates.  The Texas Hold ’em tournament lasted for approximately 3 hours.  It was a fun-filled night for all in attendance!
